One guitar. All groove.

About

GuitarJoe playing fingerstyle guitar

GuitarJoe is a fingerstyle guitarist from Antwerp. His playing brings together bass lines, rhythm and melody into one continuous flow, driven by groove and feel.

Drawing from country, folk and blues, and blending elements of bluegrass, pop, rock, jazz, swing and flamenco, his style moves freely across genres while staying rooted in the instrument.

His playing was strongly influenced by Thom Bresh, son of Merle Travis, whose approach to fingerstyle guitar left a lasting mark on his musical direction. Additional inspiration comes from players such as Chet Atkins, Tony Rice, Lightnin' Hopkins and Chicuelo, shaping a sound that blends tradition with a personal voice.

He has shared the stage with artists including The Voice finalist Evert, The Voice Senior winner Roland, bluegrass legend Bert van Bortel, and Blue Blot co-founders Jan Meijers and Charlie Belair, and has opened for Walter Broes' Belgian roots band The Seatsniffers, Belle Perez, Sam Gooris and Emmy d'Arc.

He plays live, gives lessons and does guitar setups.
